The coxswain is one of the most important people in a sweep boat. They steer the boat and are a set of eyes for the rowers since they are rowing backwards.
CRF staff will teach you all you need to know to learn to cox for FREE. Upon completion of the learn to cox class, you will be eligible to cox for any of the Master's teams (rec or competitive).
Do you have your own group of at least eight individuals that want to learn together? Simply contact Maida Wallin to set up your individualized rowing class with a minimum of one session, that meets the time and dates that are most convenient for you.
Classes are conducted out of the WMS Boathouse at Clark Park boathouse and offer an unparelled experience as you see the Chicago River from the vantage point of a rowing shell.
