Chicago Rowing Foundation offers several programs for multiple age groups and skill levels: learn-to-row summer camps for teens; introductory after-school programs for middle schoolers; and, novice and competitive high school and adult programs. We have sessions for athletes new to rowing as well as competitive teams participating in regional and national regattas. If you are between 11 and 100, we have a program for you.

The earliest someone can start rowing is after they finish their 6th grade year. The best option with getting started this early would be to sign up for our Summer Camps. The Summer Camps are for rising 7th graders all the way up to 12th grade. We hold two Summer Camp sessions, either for those who are looking to row for the first time, or for those who have rowed before but want to continue their training over the summer. No experience is necessary so sign up today for the Summer Camps!

Throughout the year, we offer Middle School rowing. The Middle School team is offered for 7th and 8th graders during the fall, winter, and spring months. No experience is necessary to join the Middle School team. The kids will learn the ins and outs of rowing and will get the opportunity to see if the sport is a good fit for them to continue into High School rowing.

The High School rowing program is offered year round. You can start as soon as Freshman year at the beginning of the fall, winter, or spring seasons. If you are new to the sport, you will start on the Novice squad. Once you have completed a full spring season, you will then move up to the Varsity squad in your sophomore year of High School.

We offer adult Learn to Row sessions every summer for those with little to no rowing experience. The adult Learn to Row program is for anyone over the age of 18 to learn how to row from our experienced coaching staff. This is a great opportunity for those who are new to the sport to learn how to row with other adults.

Once you have completed a Learn to Row session, or if you already have rowing experience, you are welcome to join our Masters programs. The Masters team practices year round, breaking up the sessions to spring and winter rowing. We offer both competitive and recreational rowing at the Masters level.
